How should we live in a world of darkness where sin is continually rampant? How would you want to be seen by Jesus if you knew He was coming to see you?
We are told to live in this world but not to be of this world. What does this mean? Does this mean that you can follow what the world does?
The world watches a lot of things on television that does not glorify God; does that mean that we have to follow their example? We know that the world is full of sin, and are commanded to be Holy as Jesus is Holy. Watching things on the television that does not glorify God does not make us holy; there are many things out there on television that the world says is good to watch.
I know that there are many Christian fans of the “Twilight” books, but would you want Jesus to find you watching those movies? Things like Harry Potter also that promote that wizards are good, would you want Jesus to see you watching those kinds of things?
One of the reasons that I mention “Twilight” is because of some of the vampires and were-wolves. Christians should realize that vampires were considered to hate the Cross. We know what happened at the Cross, so why would we let our children and ourselves watch something that does not give glory to the one who died to save us from our sins?
There are so many new movies and television shows about vampires that have sprung up because of the new popularity with the genre. Nothing in the shows justify that it is a tool that goes against God's sovereignty and all that He has done for us.
As for Harry Potter, they teach that it is alright for young people to practice witchcraft, though not all people who watch it view it as that. I have never read or watched Harry Potter, but I know that it is not something that I would want to be watching if Jesus suddenly came back here to take me away.
Live the way that will please Jesus.

If I could give some constructive criticism it would be to not start off by asking questions. In my opinion it comes across as preachy. Later on you talk about what you believe and why and that feels much more comfortable to me.
I read the Harry Potter books because people were saying they shouldn't be allowed on the library shelves. As a parent, I feel I'm the one who should judge what my kids can and cannot read. I won't go into a discussion about whether the books are evil or not because I do respect your opinion and like the way you stated your beliefs.
I've also read the Twilight books. (I try to read everything my kids might read so we can talk about it) Although I too don't like the vampires I think they are way overdone in today's media. I was disturbed more about the gushy teen love. The almost stalker like admiration that was described as a love.
You havesone a great job with expressing your opinion. Your thoughts are concise and the writing held my attention. If you add some scripture references and a prayer you have the start of a really good devo with an outstanding message.
Keep writing! You are the only one who can express your opinion like you did. Your passion for the Lord is very apparent and you have a gift in writing.
Thank you for sharing.
