Good character ultimately amounts to what

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you & all whose thoughts are fixed on you-Isaiah 26:3 NLT. Or in other words your obedience has made way for great calmness. Broken down even further your mind will be at ease because you’re doing what’s been requested of you.

When our kid's behavior and or grades are deemed as acceptable we often times reward them with a treat, toy, or some other type of gift. When our dogs go outside to relive themselves instead of doing their business inside of the house we usually give them an extra doggy snack. Let me ask you something, why is it that we do those things? The answer is simple. We do those things because this is one of the ways that we show our love and affection for others.

If this is how fine conduct is repaid by human hands, how then is a steadfast spirit and attitude rewarded by godly hands? Before you answer that let's define the word steadfast. Steadfast according to the NIV Bible is not changing or wavering (as in Abraham had a steadfast attitude when God told him that he would have a son of his own loin-Romans 4:20 NIV). When Christ, our Lord and Savior acknowledges our steadfast spirit and attitude He graciously supplies us with peace (then God's peace, which goes beyond anything that we can imagine, will guard our thoughts & emotions-Philippians 4:7 GWT); comfort (don't be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you-Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT); favor (if you live by my decrees and obediently keep my commandments, I will send rain in its due season-Leviticus 26:3&4 TM); refuge (He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection-2 Samuel 22:31NLT); wisdom (if we please God, He will make us wise-Ecclesiastes 2:26 CEV) & joy(you satisfy me more than the richest feast-Psalm 63:5 NLT). Now those are some awesome gifts! As awesome as they are they only represent a very small portion of all the gifts God has in store for these who are seen righteous by Him.

May the Lord reward you fully for what you have done-Ruth 2:12 NLT

Beautiful! And there is no one who can provide such blessings as He provides. Well done.
