Treasure Box

My treasure box is full
Upon a shelf it sits
Never do I take it down
For fear of spoiling it

Its contents are dear to me
Each piece collected carefully
Fervently I cling to them
As if they could save my soul

Jesus came into my heart one day
Asking me to empty this box
Giving up all that was my treasure
That I had guarded so carefully

With His help this I did
Throwing away my earthly treasures
He filled my box with His love and grace
Now my treasure box overflows

Never again will it sit
Closed and guarded
For this box which is my soul
Belongs to my Lord Jesus Christ

Short and sweet! A beautiful expression, thanks for sharing. A tad rough in rhythm near the end, but a good read nontheless! :)
