TITLE: Even If It Kills Him! By KAREN FASIG 03/01/04 |

As I walked down the aisle of the grocery store I overheard a teenaged boy tell a female co-worker, “Well, it’ll cost you $525 now or $150,525 over the course of your life. If you have it you won’t be able to afford a new car or a nice house. I’d pay the $525 now and get the abortion.”
How ingrained our society is with the notion of a pregnancy being an inconvenience! Satan has worked his wiles by indoctrinating our young men and women to believe that an unborn child is nothing more than a “blob of cells”.
Our education system and the so-called “women’s right movement” have been used to make it acceptable to have sex outside of marriage. If something should crop up it is all right to get rid of the “blob of cells”. After all, you don’t want to ruin your pursuit of life’s material possessions.
The feeling of guilt is nearly obsolete. You aren’t killing a child; you are choosing a better way of life. The thought never enters their minds that what they are about to “get rid of” is a child. The child’s right to life is never a consideration, only the girl’s “right to choose”.
Who is going to tell this girl the feeling of lose she will experience after “the procedure” is completed? Who will tell her about the questions that will haunt her for the rest of her life?
The wondering of what her child would have looked like? What her son or daughter might have done to make this world better? Who would they have married? What would her grandchildren have looked like? How many generations of family members may she have destroyed by her one selfish act?
Continuing on my way, I could only think about how sad it is that a conversation of that nature could be discussed openly in the middle of a supermarket.
It brought home to me how low our society has sunk. My heart prompted me to say something, but my mind said, “What can you possibly say? You don’t know those people.” So I followed my brain and not my heart and continued my shopping.
Today, as I write this, tears well up in my eyes. I feel sorrow for that girl and for the boy who advised her, but most of all I grieve for that unborn child. The child who might have been saved had I listened to my heart instead of my brain.
Today, I would say to that young man, “You can be glad your mother didn’t think of you that way. You can be glad your mother wasn’t concerned about owning a new car.”
Yes, today I could speak, but the opportunity has passed and I didn’t seize it. Allowing Satan to close my mouth may have caused a child to lose its life.
When I stand before my Lord and Savior and He asks, “Why didn’t you speak up?” my only response will be to hang my head in shame and ask his forgiveness for my failure.
The only thing I can do now is offer a prayer that the Lord sent someone or something into that girl’s life to stop her from making the biggest mistake of her young life.
My warning to anyone who might read this is don’t let Satan control you. Let the Holy Spirit give you the wisdom, the words, and the voice to speak what is in your heart.
If anyone reading this is contemplating destroying a life that is growing inside of you, I pray you will listen to your heart and not your head. There is help out there from many agencies. Pick up the phone and call someone.
There are loving and understanding people out their who can assist you no matter what your need. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Ps 3:5-6 KJV
He won't let you fail.
God Bless.
