We have created our own “holiness” with works and legalism. So many have cast away Your statutes and refused to accept or believe. We have a higher regard for ourselves than for the One, True, Living, Almighty God.
Please do not give up on us, Father. Please draw us to You once again. Let us honor You, and not the vanities of man. Let us exalt You, and turn from our misguided ways.
When I want to do good, I don’t, and when I try not to do wrong, I do it anyway (Rom. 7:19 NLT).
There is a difference between having a spirit that seeks Him, but fails at times, and having a rebellious spirit. Daniel prayed for seven years for a rebellious people. He kept seeking God on behalf of the nation.
It humbles me to know that I am also a sinner saved by grace. Our righteousness is but filthy rags. If I do not realize how wretched I am, then He is not on the throne of my life. (Rev. 3:17)
Paul said, “I am quite happy about [my weakness] . . . for when I am weak, then I am strong – the less I have, the more I depend on Him” (2 Corinthians 12:10 LB).
Father, please turn the hearts of the people to You. Please, stir us up once again to follow You wholeheartedly. Let us humble ourselves, turn from our wickedness and seek You. Send Your rain and purify us with Your holy fire. Let Your will be done, knowing Your way are not our ways. Please, help us to turn from self-seeking ways and pride, for it is not of You. Let us unify as one people “Under God.” Break the walls of division built by denominations and race to give us oneness in Your Spirit.
“I pledge allegiance to the Lamb,
With all my heart,
With all I am.
I will seek to honor his commands.
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.”
Ray Boltz
My heart aches for our people. It is 15 minutes until midnight in the Spirit. I can almost hear the trumpet blowing. There are so many wanting to fill a void, if only they would fill it with Jesus.
