It hadn't dawned on her yet, that in her chosen field classes would never really end. She hadn't thought ahead to the fact that continuing advancements in medicine would require periodic classes for recertification. Enthusiasm and pride in her accomplishment were the only things on her mind.
Months later though, when the parties following commencement were over and her once golden tan was just barely visible, Chelsea's new job at Valley General opened her eyes to the fact that indeed she still had a lot more to learn. Experience was revealing that a four-year degree wasn't the end of her schooling. It was only the beginning.
Reflecting on this observation, she recognized that in a similar way the life as a Christian was also a lifelong learning process. It seemed that just when she had a particular biblical principle figured out and in "good working order", the small quiet voice of God would speak to her heart with other ideas.
As Chelsea listened to that inner voice, she prayed, "Thank you God for putting me into a career that continually challenges my mind and for the faith that constaqntly challenges my soul." She continued, "Lord, help me to be more committed to my spiritual growth than to my career. Continue to guide and shape me according to your will, keeping me aware of what's really important; desiring to receive your graduation diploma and hear the words, 'Well done good and faithful servant.'Amen."
