influenced what kids would do. Fear of
losing friends or wanting to belong caused
many to make foolish mistakes.
There was another kind of peer pressure
that I personally experienced. The kind
that kept me from making foolish mistakes
and influenced my future.
Today, I see a country with morals out
of control or completely lost. The values
that we hold dear are no longer protected.
Instead, threatened by radical leaders with
statements about how religion has no place.
No place in public life or our laws. Out of sight.
Out of mind.
I'm curious about what kind of change could be
made if we expected our leaders to protect our
religious freedom. Held them accountable for
failure to do so at election time. If we stood up
and required it before casting our vote. Or, made
our positions known about the matter.
Leaders seem to pay attention to large numbers of
people making the same statement. As Christians,
Shouldn't we expect leaders to protect our rights?
If they don't, they don't get our votes. In an election
season, never underestimate the power of positive
peer pressure.
