Come,
Come before your Master, your Lord.
Come,
And kneel at His feet.
You heard that He was here,
That He was so special, so different.
You heard that every life that He touched was changed in some way.
And you have come,
Now you kneel before him.
See His feet.
Here before you, you see His feet and gaze in wonder.
You think about your life.
You are so angry, so arrogant.
So often lazy.
You are easily distracted, easily led astray.
Your life is not special.
And as you consider your life,
You begin to weep.
Your tears run down your face onto His feet.
After a while you notice His feet again.
They are wet with your tears,
And you lean forward,
Attempting to dry His feet with your hair.
You hear criticism.
“Who is she?”
“What does she think she’s doing?”
You wait,
Kneeling before your Master, your Lord.
Will He be your defender?
He leans forward, and lifts your face to His.
“You love me, and I love you.” He says.
“And as your tears have washed my feet, so I will wash you with my blood.
My blood will wash away the anger, they arrogance,
It will wash away the pain, all the sin.
You say that I am special, and this is true.
But know this,
I will make you special.
Your life will change lives.
People will come to you, to find me.
I love you.”
