The morning sun rises over the water
Sending colors of new light across the lake.
I look across the spand of water
As waves ripple to the shore.
Morning mist hovers in the air,
Ignites and burns and fades away.
As colors play and ride the waves,
Captured between flikering rays.
Soft clouds float across the sky,
I watch a school of fish swimming near shore.
A beetle lands and goes no farther,
Nats swarm near by.
I remove the shoes from off my feet,
I set on the peer dangling them in the water.
Awakening my soul for another day.
