We witness each year at Christmas time the outward power of that love, giving, sharing, being at one with each other but sadly it doesn't last long. To make it last is amazingly difficult. To live His love day in day out is the hardest thing we humans can ever hope to achieve, but judging by the fragment we do feel we can only imagine what He must have felt for us as He hung there upon the cross.
What a change it would be
If I loved you
And you loved me
And so did Mrs Jones and Mr Creek
Who argued over the wall last week
Or Joe and Fred who fought like mad
Just because their friendship had turned bad
Who shouted and swore they would never make up
Let's hope some day they will both wake up
And see
'Peace in our time!'
What a place the world would be
If every single last country
Both large and small
Loved each other
None would fall
But all would dismantle their barrier walls
Bringing peace to continents
across the sea
So let us start
With you and me
What a change it would be
If I loved you
And you loved me!
