TITLE: If life were a tree... By Tammy Harris 04/01/04 |

Even the smallest seed of hope can grow to feed a man, a family, a nation. Living water nourishes the heart of the seed, and the warmth of His love sparks growth. From that one simple seed, roots are founded. From the roots stems the tree, with branches and leaves, ever growing, ever reaching upward and outward. Winds of trial will blow, rocking the tree, but only serving to make it stronger. Bark forms, like wrinkles on the face of time, giving character and beauty to its form.
Within its branches other life may live, sharing in the strength of the tree. The taller a tree grows the more shelter it gives others. Some may come, seeing the bark, and carve their memories. Others may come, seeing the great strength of the tree, and try to bring it down for their own benefit. This tree, as all trees, would be greatly missed.
Regardless of the size or shape of the tree, one truth remains: while the tree lives, and even after it’s gone, the seeds it spreads will continue to grow. Such is hope, the greatest most precious gift of God.
