As we finished eating and were getting ready to leave, she put her hand on my arm and said, “Jean, I couldn’t help noticing a sadness in your eyes. Is there a problem you’re having that I could help with?”
“Oh, Nancy,” I sighed. “I had some old sins of my childhood come to mind, and I have been grieving about them.”
“Didn’t you confess all your sins to the Lord when you got saved?” she asked.
“Of course, I did,” I said, “but I had forgotten these.”
She reminded me then that ‘all’ meant ‘all’. At sincere repentance, both known and unknown, sins are covered by the blood of Jesus’ sacrifice. She said, “it is not your heart condemning you, but Satan, who ever seeks to attack the Christian’s faith.”
As with warm hugs we went our separate ways, my heart was filled with thanks for our meeting, but more than that, for the reminder of God’s grace and peace with His forgiveness that He has extended with love to me and to all who call on Him.
