The sun climbs to his accustomed place,
Leaving a trail of ribbons,
Pink and gold and lavender,
In a dark sky, lightening to blue brilliance.
He is prepared for his God-given work,
Bringing light and warmth
To earth for all mankind
And growing the world’s garden.
Flowers raise their heads at his command,
And oceans cast up droplets of diamonds
At his wondrous golden touch.
And then when comes the end of day,
Sky fades to darkness again,
Leaving behind from Creator’s palette,
Amazing displays of color.
At each new day’s beginning,
May I be prepared, as is the sun
To do the work that God has planned for me.
May I climb to new heights of faith
Through study in His Word
And understand His will
By spending time in prayer.
May I show the love of Jesus,
His kindness, and His mercy,
To each person that I meet,
And may I shine with the beauty
Of the essence of His presence,
For every moment of the day
From beginning to the end.
