The world is in chaos. It seems to be such pressure. People are irritable, pushing, going around in circles, like they don't know where they are going.
The minister went to the hospital to visit a very sick patient scheduled for surgery. The pastor asked him to visit her because he could not go then.
The minister entered the hospital, went straight to the help desk, and inquired about the patient he was there to visit. The lady at the help desk directed him to the patient's room and gave him the room number, 322. So, he went to the nursing station and asked to see the patient in room 322.
The lady there snapped, "No, sir, she isn't here."
"I probably made a mistake," the minister said, and walked away.
A nurse was walking through the hall in a hurry, coming towards him. So, he took the chance, went up to her, and asked about room 322.
She looked at him sharply and said, "I have no time to do things like that, and can't you see I'm in a hurry?"
He said, "Pardon me," and walked away.
I believe that she didn't mean to snap at him, but she couldn't help it; she was under pressure.
We are living in a neurotic age, and people are under pressure, and the doctors don't have the answer, but there is an answer somewhere.
The minister probably spent about half an hour going around in circles.
He went to room 322 and didn’t see the patient. He saw another nurse at the desk writing something out. He went up to her and waited. Then she looked up at him and kept writing. He waited a few more minutes, and he said, "Good evening." She never said anything.
He said, "I'm looking for room 322. I'm a minister, and I was told that the patient is in room 322."
She said, “Then go to room 322.”
He said, "Lady, I have been there."
"Then why ask me then. Go downstairs."
He started to go downstairs when he met another nurse on the floor and asked her. She said she didn't know anything about it and walked away.
Then there came a little doctor broader than he was tall down the hall with his stereoscopes, whirling them around and around.
The minister went up to him and asked, "Excuse me, doctor, could you tell me where…"
He said, "Yes! Yes! It's back that way."
He went down that way and thought, "What am I going to do now?"
So, he went back, and another lady was sitting at the desk, and he thought she looked pretty calm. So, he went up to her and told her his story.
He said to her, 'I'm a bit confused. I'm a minister. I'm here to make a call."
She said, "Just a moment, sir." She went over, looked in the book and said, "Yes. Go right around the corner. She's in room 241."
He thought, "Praise God, somebody had the pressure off."
The name of the Lord is a mighty tower. The righteous run into it, and they are safe. In Jesus Christ, we can let off the pressure.
