The Bible tells us in Genesis 11:5-7 NKJV, "But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, "Indeed, the people are one, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let us go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."
Thus, God disrupted the construction of the Tower of Babel and brought confusion of tongues among them so that they couldn't understand each other. They were utterly confused, gripped by fear. They were shouting and screaming at each other, not knowing what the other was saying. It was a season of chaos and madness, so confused were the people that the confusion of language drove them apart and scattered them across the world. The city was left unfinished, its tower abandoned—a monument of human pride and divine intervention.
In our world today, there is utter confusion and chaos. Men's hearts are failing for fear. As Christians, we must seek spiritual Rest in God's Word, especially in promises such as Isaiah 41:10 and John 14:27, which serve as anchors of Peace and reassurance, helping us stay focused on the things of God rather than the things of this world.
This reassurance can bring comfort and calm to our hearts in difficult times. We can find a place of Rest when we are confused.
His promises are a source of strength and assurance for us who are seeking true Peace amid chaos, inspiring trust in His ability to calm our hearts.
