Meandering on its way
Down an uncertain path,
That all will be well.
He sings merrily along his way,
Bouncing and flinging into the air
Bright droplets of water,
Shining in the sun
Like a brilliant crystal necklace.
He is not confused about
The direction he is going,
Nor is he concerned about
The little dirt clods in his way,
Not even the enormous rocks
He must go around or over.
And if there comes a drought
That dries him up completely,
He does not fret.
He need not worry,
For in God’s good providence,
The rains will come again,
And he, again, will journey
On his way with a merry melody.
When my pathway is not sure,
And I cannot see the way ahead,
May I never be confused
For what the Lord has planned for me.
When obstacles are looming large
Within my onward way,
May I know the Holy Spirit
Is beside me to guide me.
Should I ever feel depleted,
May I have the surety
That the Creator of the stream
Created also, me,
And I’m in His good providence.
I need not be uncertain, for
I’m always in His care.
This He promised in His Word.
