I always thought I would marry a minister. I loved the Lord so much. I craved to be able to partner with a man of God to bring glory to God. But that didn’t happen. Ansel happened.
Ansel is an artist. His murals and paintings take my breath away and lead me into worship. Such beauty, such creativity, and craftsmanship.
But still, I sometimes think about my girlhood dreams…
And then I read about Bezalel chosen by God to be filled with the Spirit of God and to use his artistic talents in gold, silver, bronze, and stones in the Tabernacle.

God CHOSE Bezalel and filled him with the Spirit of God. It reminds me of my Ansel. I wonder what it would have been like to be the wife of Bezalel.
PUTS ON HEADDRESS
There goes my “friend” Adah flaunting the fact that she is married to one of Aaron’s sons, a priest. And then she puts her hand to her mouth. “Oh, I’m sorry, Hannah, I didn’t want to make you feel bad that you are married to a mere craftsman. Not all of us can marry men of God.” Her voice drips with pity.
I always thought I would marry a priest. I loved the Lord so much I craved to be able to partner with a man of God to bring Jehovah glory. But that didn’t happen. Bezalel happened.
Bezalel is an artist. His gold and silver designs take my breath away and lead me into worship. Such beauty, such creativity, and craftsmanship.
But still, I sometimes think about my girlhood dreams…
What is Moses saying? The Lord has CHOSEN my Bezalel? That the Lord has filled him with the spirit of God? Oh, that is so true. I have always noticed that about my Bezalel. I think that may have been what won my heart. And for Bezalel to be chosen to use his craft for the Tabernacle? Oh, what a foolish woman I have been to ever envy Adah. God not only chose Bezalel for the Tabernacle, He chose him for me. Forgive my ingratitude, Lord. Forgive my blindness.

God chose Bezalel to bring Him glory through his craftsmanship. And God chose my Ansel as well. He chose him to bring Him glory through his craft. And not only that, He chose him for me. Forgive my ingratitude, Lord. Forgive my blindness.
You know, I’ve been wanting to use my craft of writing to bring God glory, and I think He has chosen me as well.
And I think I know who I could use as my illustrator…
