Look at her. Isn’t she beautiful in that elegant gown,with her pretty curls just brushing her shoulders? Who would have dreamed that the little pigtailed, freckle-faced girl we saw running with the other children around here after church would become a rich and famous movie star? All of her reviews have been outstanding. I can’t wait to see her next movie.

Listen to that magnificent music. Could you have imagined that our own little V.J. would one day become a piano virtuoso? As her fingers lightly trip across the keys, then pound out a strong rhythm, it’s hard to believe her mother used to say she couldn’t get her to practice unless it was time to do the dishes.

See her there on stage? No one here knew, when she sang in the children’s choir, that she would someday sing in concerts around the world and be hailed as the new Jenny Lind. I wonder if she would sing a solo in our service.

Is that V.J. on the platform? Surely, she isn’t the missionary speaker who has been to Africa! The program states that she has a real heart for missions with a great love for the African people, and she is much sought after as a speaker. We had no idea she would use her gift of love for others in this special way.

. . . Thus was I daydreaming of my future talents during my dad’s sermons in church on Sunday when I was just a girl.

Loved these little snippets of daydreams in your memories of being a pastor's kid. While all these worldly views of stars in the limelight such as actress, pianist, and singer and the more Christian superstar of a faithful missionary, are to be admired, it's wonderful that God considers all His children just as precious.
