The ones that cheer, the ones that please.
Remember good times that you had
And none of those that made you sad.
Hold fast to folks who cherish you.
Forget the friends who proved untrue.
Keep close, beloved family
Who helped you be what you could be.
Hold fast to faith that brought you through
The times you knew not what to do.
Thank God for every answered prayer
And times you knew that He was there.
Hold fast to victories you’ve won,
But not the things you left undone.
Recall the blessings that God sent,
And to your life, how much they meant.
Hold fast to seasons’ changing views,
From summer’s flowers to autumn’s hues,
And how the sun of brightest day
Can chase the gloom of night away.
Hold fast to promises God made,
And don’t allow His words to fade.
Look forward to eternity,
Where in God’s Kingdom you will be.
