To the limb of the giant oak
With roots buried deep in the ground,
Just so, do I find my strength
By clinging to Omnipotent God,
Creator of the world and all within.
I’m amazed that He sees me
In my insignificance
And that He cares for me.
Like the tree gives nutrients
To the leaf that is attached,
Magnificent God has sufficiency
To supply my every need.
He grants to me His mercy and grace,
Even angels for protection.
His goodness is immeasurable.
I hold fast to all the promises
That I find within His Word,
As well as lessons in righteousness,
With Jesus as the perfect example.
May I never be like the leaf,
Cleft from the tree
By fierce rain and roaring wind.
I will keep faith in my Lord and Savior
And hang on tightly to Him
In the storms of life
As He holds me
With His mighty hand.
