God designed in which to bring
Light into our eyes
Such an amazing design
Such absolute perfection
If I were a designer
I wouldn’t have known what direction
To go
Whether in bright sun
Or under starry sky
The iris protects
The iris directs
The right
amount of light
Into my eye
God has given me a spiritual eye
And with it a spiritual iris
It determines the amount of spiritual light
And of this I am desirous
That this iris protects
This iris directs
The right
amount of light
into my soul
My siblings' eyes are different than mine
While mine are brown
Theirs are hazel and blue
But you know what is true?
I’m the only one whose eyes matched those of my mother
I point out to my sisters and brother
But whatever the colors of our eyes
This one thing we each recognize
We are all the same family
My brothers and sisters in Christ
May have eyes not the same as mine
Whatever the colors of our eyes
This one thing we each recognize
We are all members of God’s family
The iris is an amazing thing
God designed in which to bring
Light into our eyes
Such an amazing design
Such absolute perfection
God always knew
Which direction
To go
