I thought she was my friend,
But as I spent more time with her,
That thought began to end.
She had much to complain about
And more to criticize.
To be with her made me depressed,
I came to realize.
She asked if I would meet with her
And told me when and where,
But then when I arrived on time,
I found she wasn’t there.
She borrowed my new pocketbook.
That I’d worked hard to earn,
And I should not have been surprised,
She never did return.
She vowed she’d keep my secret safe,
The whole and any part,
But then she blabbed to everyone
What I’d shared from my heart.
She’d done me wrong so many times,
To count them makes me dizzy,
But still, she cannot understand,
Why when she calls, I’m busy.
The final straw occurred one day
When she made fun of me
For having faith in Jesus Christ.
Now, she’s my enemy.
