It's not the news we like to choose.
The Indian pastor who leads his flock
Is watched at every move.
Abuse and threats are his daily stock,
And rubble where his church had stood.
But this is God's work;
No one can shut it down.
Khasa* weeps in Afghanistan
When her husband is found dead,
Killed for his faith, yet not in vain,
She worships in secret instead.
It doesn't make it to our evening news;
It's not the news we like to choose.
In a town in North Korea,
Some soldiers search a house
While little Ji Ro* cowers in fear.
They find The Book and take her father out.
But this is God's work;
No one can shut it down.
Ji Ro's father's radio
The soldiers didn't find.
So she comes to trust a Saviour
Who loves her and is kind.
It doesn't make it to our evening news;
It's not the news we like to choose.
Razia* and her family cry,
Their house and church burnt down,
An angry mob came in July
In Punjab, rural Pakistan.
But this is God's work;
No one can shut it down.
