Before even in the womb
The Father knew them
Once in the womb
He painstakingly grew them
What were these babies destined to be
Doctors
inventors
curers of cancer
I suppose we'll never know the answer
I mourn for the unborn
For the authors who will never write God’s story
The artists who will never portray God’s glory
Our world has been made poor
We need more
Open our eyes
to the prize
that You have entrusted to us
I mourn for the unborn
The children meant to be
our future
Who will suture
Our world back together
when we are gone
I mourn for the unborn
what are we missing
Jesus is kissing
These precious babies now in His care
Is that rain or tears drenching the Earth
as the Father declares these precious ones worth?
As the Father sheds a single tear
I hear His voice loud and clear
“I mourn for the unborn”
