This is not the first time I have mourned.
The first time was long ago, when one third of my beautiful angels chose to follow Lucifer, and turned their backs on Me.
Some have said that I should have destroyed them all right there and then. But that would not have been the way of love. I knew that I had to prove to the entire cosmos (angels, cherubim and seraphim, the four living ones and others that humans do not yet know about) that sin does not pay. Only then could I be certain that sin itself could be destroyed, never again to raise its ugly head. And I knew what I had to do to make that happen.
So I created Earth. I set it in a new universe. It was the perfect planet. Perfect for the people I created there. I will never forget how beautiful it was. Simple, but beautiful. (It only needed three spatial dimensions and one time dimension, and the time dimension only moved forwards – never backwards. That was an essential part of my plan.)
Many of my faithful angels were surprised when I gave humans free will. They did not understand what this creation was all about. They had a lot of questions, but I wanted them to see it unfold, step by step.
I knew the humans would fail. They would choose sin. And I would have to let them see the result of sin. I knew it was coming – but oh how it HURT!
I went down to walk and talk with my beloved Adam and Eve. But they were not waiting for me. They knew how much I loved them, yet they were not waiting for me. They had sinned.
I had to drive them out of the garden so that they would not eat of the tree of life, and live forever in their fallen state. It was a dreadful punishment. Outside the garden, away from the tree of life, nature had taken on destruction. Sin had damaged all of my creation. Nature had become cruel. Adam and Eve were going to have to work hard and suffer.
It hurts Me more than it hurts them – but they don’t see it that way yet. One day they will. They will understand my grief.
But I will not leave my beloved humans without hope. I will send messengers to them and, step by step, reveal the way for them to move from darkness to light.
Then in about four thousand of their years, My Son will be born. He will not sin. He will suffer the same temptations as all the other humans. But He will not fall. Instead He will offer Himself as the Perfect Sacrifice. So I will lay on this innocent man the sins of the whole world. He will die a terrible death, while the very people He is dying for mock Him. But then I will demonstrate hope for humans by raising Him from the dead. They will then be able to see – if they cry out to Me for understanding – that He IS the door He told them He was. He is the way into the Kingdom of God. Then I will call Him up to Heaven for about two thousand years.
Many humans will choose to follow Me and walk in love. Many will not. This too will hurt.
Just when it seems to them that evil is going to win I will send Him back – to win gloriously over evil.
The whole cosmos will have seen that sin does not pay! My Son will reign on Earth for one thousand years. Lucifer – by then renamed Satan (meaning ‘the deceiver’) - will be locked up and incapable of tempting anyone. But those who were not granted immortality on the return of My Son, will still need to face the desire for sin that is within them. Then there will be the final judgement of sin. Sin will be permanently finished. Death and suffering will not be needed anymore. There will be huge rejoicing in Heaven and on the New Earth.
And there will no longer be a barrier between my beloved humans and Myself. Just perfect love.
But for now, I mourn.
