For angels You sent through the years
In charge of my protection,
For guidance and straight paths You made,
For choosing my direction.
For helping me through every trial
As well as each temptation,
And Your assurance You’d be near
In every tribulation.
For my life work you planned for me,
A useful occupation,
For rest and play and traveling,
Enjoying Your creation.
For Your provision, without fail,
Of needs, which you supplied,
And many things that I desired,
You also did provide.
For family you gave to me,
A loving Christian mate,
For children and grandchildren, too.
Each one, I dedicate.
For sending Your own Son to die
To take away my sin,
And giving me a life of faith
With Jesus’ peace within.
For comfort in my darkest hours
When no light could I see,
For caring when my heart was hurt
And giving hope to me.
For services to honor You
In churches, large and small,
For hymns and prayers and sermons, too.
I’m thankful for them all.
For every time I’ve called on You
And knew that You would hear,
I’d lay my burdens at Your feet
And have no need to fear.
For those You brought into my life
To be encouragement,
And those who needed Christian help,
My salt and light, You sent.
And for the promise in Your Word
That when this life has passed,
I’ll witness heaven’s glory
When I am home at last.
