TITLE: A Fine Young Man | Previous Challenge Entry

Where young men had come out to play.
When several began to fight,
One fellow cried, “This isn’t right.”
He stepped among them with raised hand,
And said, “You need to understand
We’re here preparing for a game,”
But placed on no one any blame.
His words and actions were all pure.
He was sincere, and that seemed sure.
And when the coach spoke to the team,
Respect from that guy could be seen.
Then one by one, they took the field,
And they took turns the bat to wield.
Of players, he was not the best.
Still, he stood out above the rest.
The reason was the One he served
As from His rules, he never swerved.
He’d given God his heart and soul,
His life to be in His control.
And since he showed integrity,
I knew what kind of man he’d be.
