My name is Norma NotMe. It seems God is always tugging at my heart to do things that are really much more suited to other people. To be honest, those things are abnormal, they’re "AbNorma", (USES AIR QUOTES) I’m sure He can find somebody else to do it. Not me.
For example, the other day, there was a disheveled young man outside the Dollar Store. He held a sign saying “Hungry, please help”. I knew giving money would be easy, but would it be helpful or just money for alcohol?
God prodded me, “You’re outside the Dollar Store. Pick up some food for him.”
“Lord, I’m sure there are people who are more suited for doing such things. But Lord, I’m not comfortable doing something like that. It’s abnormal, it’s “abNorma”. Someone else will have to do it.
Not me."
And somebody did.
Another time, at church they were trying to get signups to take Marilyn to her chemo appointments.
“You have the time. You have the car.” God prodded me.
“Lord, I’m sure there are people who are more suited for doing such things. But Lord, I’m not comfortable doing something like that. It’s abnormal, it’s “abNorma”. Someone else will have to do it.
Not me."
And somebody did.
And then in a dream, I went to heaven, and I heard the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.[e] You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ Matt 25:21 ESV
Who was Jesus talking to? He was praising those many "abnormal " somebodies.
Not me.

And somebody did.
Wow - short, concise and extremely powerful. How often has this been a narrative in my life? In our lives? Thank you for this reminder -"Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me."
The ending was powerful as well. Great job all around.
That was a powerful, convicting story. It made me think of all the opportunities that God has brought into my path that I might have missed because I presumed someone else would do it
Congratulations on your second place in EC.
