Has such powerful truth that really needs
To be fully understood
Lord what is the message of the seed
What is it that I really need
To be able to understand it
What was Jesus really saying
Were the disciples really paying
attention?
I don’t know
Why sometimes seeds won’t grow
I have a brown thumb
I really feel dumb
That my efforts don’t grow
It makes me feel so low
Hard soil
Such toil
Seeds tossed
Salvation lost
For satan snatches the seed away
Shallow soil
The plants will soon spoil
The converts grow fast
But enthusiasm doesn’t last
For the roots are shallow
They do not hallow
The word of the Lord
The thorns choke the plant
The thorns destroy the seed
They encircle the plant
With the triumphant weed
The grass withers and dies
My heart cries
For my friends who don’t come to you
I know they will rue
it someday
Oh but good soil
May the increase come
May God’s will be done
Grow your seeds in my heart, Lord
Grow your seeds in my heart
When my shallow roots are as pale as bones
When the soil of my heart is cluttered by stones
Grow your seeds in my heart
Let the healing growth start!
May the soil of my heart be clean and pure
I come to you and take your cure
Lord, grow your seeds in my heart
May the multiplication start
