I want to reach out and
Find the true foundation
Pats on the back
Have a lack
of stability
I don't want my self-worth
to depend on my ability
The praise of others
Is nice
But I should think twice
Before putting my foundation in them
The foundations are rumbling
and soon will send me tumbling
If I put my trust in cash
That idea is trash!
My money will come
My money will go
Depending on money for my foundation
Will only bring woe
The foundations are rumbling
and soon will send me tumbling
When I put my trust in my job
I’ll begin to sob
When I fail
And I’ll wail
With the heartbreak
The foundations are rumbling
and soon will send me tumbling
This is the thing
that my heart knows
A certainty within me grows
That I want the foundation of rock
Of Jesus my Lord
His promises are true
His love never fails
When the world attacks
When the world assails
He is the glue
that holds my life together
In foul or fair weather
I’ve found the foundation I know that is true
I’ve found the foundation that won’t make me rue
My choice
The foundations are no longer rumbling
And my foundations will not send me tumbling
