Work to rearrange
God’s beautiful handiwork
Upon oceans and lands,
Rippling waves of blue waters
On their journey to shore,
And blowing gems of golden sand
To glitter from place to place.
Brisk winds of autumn
Undress brightly bedecked trees,
Whose garments of orange
And yellow and crimson,
Float gently to the ground below,
Where they form crunchy piles
For little ones to jump in joyfully
And grumbling men to collect.
Brisk winds of autumn
Add to the air,
An invigorating tang,
Welcomed happily
After the stifling heat
Of long summer days,
And making rosy the cheeks
Of children playing outside,
While sending Mama back inside
To grab a sweater.
Brisk winds of autumn,
With plumes of smoke
From chimney tops,
Bring long days of school
And activities with friends,
As well as the reminder
That winter awaits,
With fun in the snow
And joyous holidays to anticipate,.
