It’s easier, then, to pick for me.
From low limb, it does not get bruised.
A rotten apple I’d not choose.
“A picture’s worth a thousand words.”
A poet thinks that’s “for the birds.”
While, at his craft, he works so long,
Just taking pictures seems quite wrong.
“Early to bed and early to rise
Makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
For someone who, his work may shirk,
I think this adage will not work.
I’ve been told “Ignorance is bliss.”
I’d sadly not agree with this,
For failed I, an important test—
Missed question one and all the rest.
“Practice makes perfect,” so they say.
It doesn’t always work that way.
The kid next door plays every day,
A horn, I’d like to throw away.
If “Early birds get the worm” is true,
That not a thing I’d want to do.
I’ve no desire to catch a worm.
Why would I want to see him squirm?
“You are never too old to learn.”
Said someone too young to discern.
The old can’t clearly hear or see
And sometimes lose their memory.
