A person still to be,
The God of all the world knew then
My possibilities.
While I was yet unborn,
With care He knitted me
Within my mother’s waiting womb.
He made me wondrously.
While I was yet unborn,
He gave me eyes to see
The beauty of the world He’d made,
His creativity.
While I was yet unborn,
He gave me ears to hear
The great old hymns of Christian faith
To ever draw me near.
While I was yet unborn,
He gave to me a heart
To love him with the knowledge that
He’d loved me from the start.
While I was yet unborn,
He gave to me a mind
To read His Word and understand
His plan for all mankind.
While I was yet unborn,
He gave me a free will
To choose if I His child would be,
And I’m his daughter still.
While I was yet unborn,
With promise, did He bless me
That when I die, I’ll be with Him
In heaven’s eternity.
