The unknown
The intangible
The unseen
The ethereal
How can I trust
What I can’t see
Or feel, taste
Touch or be?
Is that the goal?
Humility?
Must I
Trust the Lord with all
My Heart
And lean not
On my
Understanding
But I understand
My understanding
And reason
And logic
And tangible
Solid facts
I see what’s real
Or do I?
Unless it’s all
In a mirror
And I see
But darkly
What then?
What if I must leap
Off the cliff
Of reason and
Free fall
From the height
Of my reality?
I will crash
I will be humiliated
Is that the goal?
Humility?
Must I
Trust the Lord with all
My Heart
And lean not
On my
Understanding
The struggle is real:
Head against
Heart
Faith against
Logic
Trust against
Security
Flesh against
Spirit
Yet I know
That I know
That I know
God is real
So I will leap
And fly against
Reason
This is my goal:
Humility
I will
Trust the Lord with all
My Heart
And lean not
On my
Understanding
