And where she now might be.
She up and left me long ago.
I miss her terribly.
She ran and jumped and sometimes skipped,
Completely worry free.
She roller skated and she biked
With great agility.
There was no work she had to do,
Just be with friends all day.
They played outdoors and had great fun
To while the hours away.
She woke each morning, hoping for
The day to have excitement,
Already dreading nine o’clock,
For bedtime was what night meant.
It didn’t matter what she’d wear,
How dirty she might get,
For laundering was not her job.
At least, it wasn’t yet.
She had no wrinkles, aches, or pains,
With doctor’s visits rare.
For all of the world’s condition,
She didn’t have a care.
If she could see me now, I’m sure,
She just might not believe
How I’m the opposite of her.
Might possibly, she’d grieve.
