In coach that’s music-drawn,
To times I first heard hymns of praise,
Though now those days are gone.
I linger where I’d learned some words
Which brought me such a thrill.
Now “Jesus Loves Me” is a truth
That makes me happy still.
I journey to camp-meeting times,
Where glad notes filled the air,
And when I sang “Love Lifted Me,”
The Dear Lord met me there.
I go to church as I have done
So many times before,
And with the tune, “Amazing Grace,”
I hear the notes still soar.
I meet with saints along the way
To hear, “Does Jesus Care?”
Their faces show they’ve proved it so.
He’s with us everywhere.
I stop to bow at Christmas scene,
Where Infant lies among them,
And hear the angels, still on high,
“Oh Come Let Us Adore Him.”
These precious hymns that were so dear
Have oft encouraged me.
Now music-drawn inside my coach,
I sing them joyously.
