strong and healthy
keep away morbidity
that extinguishes
all joys and hopes
Set it ablaze
lest it dies
due to neglect
or atrophy
at times fuel of the wrong kind
Rekindle in me a zest for life
lest I am suffocated
by wars and incessant viruses
fear of the economic downturns
worry about imminent recession
Inflame my dark gloomy cheerless sky
with Your holy fires
I need fuel of the right kind
some fuels fuel
but some fuels douse
My arms are feeble
and my knees dropping
low morale and spiritually weak
yet I hold on to Your promise
spoken in ancient past
Ignite the flames of Your favour
restore my keen relish
of life yesteryear
tarnished by life uncertainties
and black swans suddenly
Surely You will not snap
a bruised reed
Neither will You quench
a smothering flax
Come gentle and patient Saviour
Come alongside me
to encourage
to counsel
to be my constant guide
every day of my life
