Imagine, it’s been a hot summer day
And you’ve worked hard on the farm
Exhausted, sweaty, needing to cool off
A cool dip would do you no harm
Fond memories of your childhood arise
About your favorite swimming hole
In the stream at the back of the farm
Hidden in-between those sandy shoals
You just can’t get it out of your mind
Give in, grab a towel, swimming trunks
Head across the field to the pond
Looking forward to a much-needed dunk
Old oak trees surround the hidden oasis
A rope swing hangs from a bough
A wonderful place to take your dip
A place to invigorate your body now
Bullfrogs leap away as you dive in
A frightened beaver tail slaps the water
Catfish come close to check you out
Upstream slowly swims a curious otter
Sunlight dances on the cool water
As it cascades across the sandy shoals
Dragonflies flit here and flit there
A hawk keenly watches, dinner his goal
As you surface you happily shout
As the water cleanses your sweat away
Then dive down to the muddy bottom
And shove your toes into that cool clay
Just imagine, it’s a day like no other
When you first enter the River Of Life
As you swim you are eternally refreshed
As it washes away your Earthly strife
Each dive you take forever changes you
As it washes away those layers of sin
Until you emerge completely squeaky clean
Both on the outside and deep within
Down at that precious River Of Life hole
Your life can forever be changed
If you ask your sins are forever forgiven
With those waters, eternal life is arranged
