that Jesus made for quite the bunch
of people
Two fish
What dish
could be made from that
But at least it won’t be making us fat
Five loaves of bread
It would be with dread
that I would have brought that measly meal
to the master
What a disaster
Their stomachs were rumbling
Would their faith start tumbling?
They had come to feed their souls
But would their hunger begin to create holes
in their belief in that itinerant preacher
But He would still reach her
And He would still reach him
With His power He feeds all
And their faith that day won't fall
But grows
As I think of that picnic lunch
I begin to have a hunch
That Jesus could use my little as well
My talent so little compared to great writers
My income so little compared to great tithers
I come to the Lord
hands outstretched, head bowed
Use my little to feed the crowd
Multiply my reach
Help me to teach
others of the awesomeness of You
Let me bring them to see what is true
Let me help them see the beauty that is You
Lord take my fish of imagination
May You use it to help reach this nation
and feed them with knowledge of You
May you multiply the people I teach
May You multiply the hearts that I reach
with Your good news
May You use Your power to increase the views
of everything I write
I pray with all my might
That I might help feed this world
starving from strife
with words about the bread of life
