We need to act
And that's a fact
With so much at stake
we can no longer take
for granted that
someone ought to do something

We need to act
And that's a fact
But act with God's love
There’s no need to shove
others around

God will guide us on what to do
Vote for the ones
Who stick to their guns
Who do what's right
and never give up the fight

What you are led to do
might not be my cup of tea
But if I open my eyes
then I will see
there is something I can do

Sign a petition
Read the latest edition
of an important bill
We must educate ourselves
If we don’t know what is right
Then how can we fight?

We need to act
and that's a fact
Since the challenge is here
We can’t succumb to fear

Send an email today to your senator
Write a letter to the editor
Depending on you
It varies on what to do

Let your conscience be your guide
We no longer have time to hide
from the conflict
There is truth
we need to share
There are wrongs
we must lay bare

We rely on God
To reveal each fraud
that seeks to steal our nation
It's an abomination

But what we all need to do above all
is fall on our knees
and lift up a call
to our God

Prayer is our power
We need it each hour
But today even more
For we are in a war
We lift our voices in a roar
of praise and petition

We need to act
and that's a fact

It’s easy to fear
But God is near
is there something that
you feel strongly about
But don't want to clamor
Don’t want to shout?

“Someone should do something”
you think and that's true
You are so right
That someone is you

It's a fact
it's time to act

if we wait until tomorrow
We may find to our sorrow
our rights have slipped away
so I tell you this day

we need to act
and that's a fact

But we engage in our fear
The time may come
That the battle never gets won
for the job was never done

For it's a fact
we needed to act…


and we didn't
