So you cannot watch
So you cannot see
My weaknesses
My pain
My flaws
If I follow the laws
That make me safe
That make me pause
All self attacks
All fear of shame
To stop the knives
The stab of blame
Like Rahab’s Salmon broached her walls
The foreigner behind the walls
Of hiding
He taught her abiding
In the love of God
As I hide behind my walls
Jesus calls
The barrier falls
And I foreswear the stalls
Of hiding away
Red rope of salvation
Saving Rahab from judgment her city deserved
Jesus’ blood from the cross
Red rope of salvation
Pulling down the walls
Pulling down my defenses
Invading all my senses
With freedom
Joy
Love
And Peace
The shame is gone
I feel release
Of all the burdened past
If I hide behind a wall
You cannot see me
You cannot know me
You cannot judge me
But you cannot love me
Jesus sees beyond my fears
The defensive lies
The silent tears
The walls are down
But I am still surrounded
Not by my walls
But by His love
