The many times you cried
For fears you had that seemed so real?
Then God was by your side.
Do you remember when you wished
For one you could confide
The troubles that would weigh you down?
Then God was by your side.
Do you remember being lost
And wishing for a guide,
Someone who’d show which way to go?
Then God was by your side.
Do you remember when friends left
That you’d hoped would abide,
The disappointment that you felt?
Then God was by your side.
Do you remember that sad time
When someone you loved died,
The grief you felt you could not bear?
Then God was by your side.
Do you remember through the years
When help you’d need arrived,
And you’d not know from whence it came?
Then God was by your side.
Unseen, unheard, He still was there
Wherever you might be.
If you invite Him, He’s here now
And through eternity.
