For one with heavy load.
It’s welcomed by the weary soul
On whom it is bestowed.
Kindness is a loaf of bread
To someone who’s in need,
Received with thoughts of thankfulness
By one from hunger freed.
Kindness isn’t always seen
As action realized.
It may be just a tender look
In gentle, caring eyes.
Kindness doesn’t wear a badge,
Its worthiness declared,
But anyone accepting it
Can know another cared.
Kindness is a shining sea
Of warm words never ceasing,
Assurances of peacefulness
Repeatedly releasing.
Kindness is the sun that shines
On someone’s darkened world
Or candle of encouragement
On banner that’s unfurled.
Kindness is of rich supply
That never can be wasted.
Both giver and receiver, too,
Have of its bounty tasted.
Kindness is a healing balm
That soothes a wounded spirit
When it’s presented with the truth
That has God’s mercy in it.
