Upon her small one’s brow.
With love, does she, for fever check
The best way she knows how.
Gentle is a father’s hand
Upon a toddler’s arm
As he shows him the way to go
To keep him safe from harm.
Gentle is the rain that falls
To soak the thirsty land
And ripple waves within the sea
That lap along the sand.
Gentle is the morning sun
That brings bright rays of light
To shine upon the darkened earth
And chase away the night.
Gentle is the butterfly
That flits from flower to flower
And seeks the sweet in nectar found
To while away an hour.
Gentle is the voice of God
With comfort for the grieving.
He's balm to ease the lonely heart,
Distraught at loved one’s leaving.
Gentle is the Lamb of God,
Our Jesus, Gentle Savior.
We’re held within His care as we
Continue in His favor.
