I certainly am glad.
Just trying to learn homophones
Would surely drive me mad,
Like sound-alikes— there, their, and they’re,
And how each one is used,
Or these three words— to, too, and two,
Would make me so confused.
I hope that what I write is right,
And meanings all are clear,
Or should I have said, plain or plane?
Which would be better here? (or hear)?
But other words are harder still,
Like through and tough and though,
All ending in o u g h,
But not all sound of o.
These same four letters can be found
Inside both tough and rough.
They’re also seen in cough and trough,
And I think that’s enough.
Add letter t, and change the game
With bought and thought and brought,
With then another sound in drought.
I think I’m overwrought.
That English is my native tongue,
I certainly am glad.

I could see a 5th grader read ing this and scratching his head saying huh.
It was fresh and creative.
The entry started well and came to a satisfying conclusion.
It flowed smoothly. It is well communicated.
Thank you
