And I would disagree
With sister or my brothers,
Who’d fuss right back at me,
Our father would then say to us,
“Now that’s enough of that.”
When we were disobedient
To rules our parents made,
Or from the laws of decency,
In any way we strayed,
Our father would then say to us,
“Now that’s enough of that.”
When we showed spirits critical
And others we’d malign,
And we’d not find within ourselves
A reason to be kind,
Our father would then say to us,
“Now that’s enough of that.”
When we’d show signs of selfishness
And seemed without a care
For others who’d need help from us
That we’d see anywhere,
Our father would then say to us,
“Now that’s enough of that.”
When God looks at our world today,
His heart must be dismayed
From trouble that’s resulting when
His laws are disobeyed.
I think our Father says to us,
“Now that’s enough of that.”
