But gone too fast
The sun has set
On dreams that ne’er did come to pass
Things left unsaid
Rattle around in my heart
Unspoken
Before your early depart
What if what they say about time
Never does occur
And until the day we reunite
These wounds will ever hurt
Raise me up in Your arms of love
And out of this darkness I’ll soar
For I know thy will
Will be done
Not in my time but in Yours
At first, I could not bear to look
Tears flooded down my face
Like a torrent from the sky
I opened to shades of gray
Until a Spirit from up above
Gently and with grace
Touched my eyes with His love
And moved in to take its place
Rising up through the depths
The light was getting bolder
And when I rose to take a breath
I saw in wonderous color:
A radiant rainbow
In the sky
beams his ever-present smile
A lush, green meadow
That never dries
His kindness affected so many lives
A lake
Pristine, placid and blue
The Spirit of the Lord always shone through
A diamond
In a golden crown of jewels
His deep compassion drew people too
A sunset
bellowing a crimson tide
He lived out loud his faith in Christ
All these things
Are more than true
A legacy left
In bright colorful hues
