Every day revolving groups sipped and chewed and chatted and glanced at traffic, foot or rolling, and on occasion at the goings-on in the city park
Until dark…
It never crossed the minds of regular folk with agendas of their own to wonder where the day-sitters-on-the-benches went when the sun was down
They must be around…
There were shelters, one supposed, and places hopeless faces gathered in tents or under bridges or across the tracks in shacks
Someone had their backs…
After all, there were taxes paid for programs to assist all the needy from vets to pets with none falling to the side
Until they died…
There’d be a vague hue and cry and a picture buried in the daily news and an increase from a few churches quietly helping the best they could
And that’s how it stood…
But then, a writer took a chance the day he noticed Miss Magdalena Malone sitting in her zone feeding bread crumbs to a single bird
He wasn’t sure she heard…
When he sat down and asked her name and would she accept the soup in the throw-away cup and let him record the conversation
She sighed with little reservation…
So, every day he tried to find the puzzle piece to explain how this obviously fine lady--gentle and very wise--had no home to rest her weary self
No one seemed to care or help…
Until this shining prince of press wrote his tale of how she lost her health, and then her wealth, and finally had no place to go
Her family did not know…
When she tried to share how things were getting worse, they did not pay attention to the depth of impending destitution
With no clear resolution…
She wandered here and there, wearing all the clothes she owned but what she told the wordsmith who won a prize for what he wrote was the stunning bottom line
She assured him everything was fine, and she did not mind…
Her only purpose she insisted to the author of her story, was to tell each one about God’s love and the purpose of repentance
That was the last sentence…
The report was complete, though still a little fuzzy as to who she really was and how she ended up on that bench across from a place many eat but some not truly fed
Fearing she was dead…
People of the town, taken by such peculiar account, searched but never found the curious woman who some said might have been an angel in disguise
But for sure, an opener of their eyes…

Hebrews 13:2 (TLB)
Don’t forget to be kind to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

I suspect I would have skimmed over it if it were written in normal paragraphs. Thanks for thought-provoking creativity.
