You were not born with me around, and you never really knew my name, but the possibility of me living with you was always there. It was up to you really, and what you were most looking for in life. And of course where you were not looking as well. I will explain that later.
I’m very clever, I must admit. You need people, but needing them can also wreak havoc to your true self that God has made. There is the healthy interdependent need for others, that is balanced and enjoyable. And then there is me.
I can arrive through the backdoor. I make you codependent, and give you a place to hide. You look normal and good on the outside, but you are miserable and lonely on the inside. No one ever knows the real you.
I’m like a tick that latches on to the dog. Sorry, but you allowed me to bite you.
Let me introduce myself formally, since you are starting to be aware that I am no good for you. Your new leaning on Jesus instead of people is bluntly killing me slowly. Addictions are hard to break.
My name is “Peace At Any Price,” and my nick name is “Peep Pleaser.” Because of me, you hide your true self that God has given you. Now that I am out of the closet, I want to reveal to you the havoc I have wreaked in your life
Being aligned with me blinded you and your loved ones to your true identity in God. You have compromised the person God made with a false self to try to please everyone all the time.
Yep. I destroy lives this way. And for you it’s an impossible task. People will always fail you, as you will eventually fail them.
Your codependence was addiction. You started living the lie that your feelings were never hurt, that all was okay with you in the relationship when it wasn’t. I kept your frustration and anger all bottled up within you. That made you anxious and you lost sleep, ate junk food, and basically stopped caring about living.
But, I have noticed a change in you lately. You’ve been seeking God with all your heart and finally got the to the truth that would run me off. He is the only One you need to please.
You cannot have intimacy with God without a good hard look at who you are, and who He intends you to be.
He has heard your repentant cries of help. Your true self is blossoming, as the need to please your peers at any price is dying. I knew I wasn’t good for you, but as long as I stayed hidden behind the closed doors of your heart, I could steal, kill, and destroy all of the good stuff God intended for you.
Your new boldness will surprise many, ward off a few, and give you a total new lease on the new life God intended you to have. God is teaching you a new walk now, and I never will be welcome back into your life. He is the Truth, and I cannot stand up to His power.
You will be bold in your obedience to Him now. You will find joy in turning the other cheek. You will be iron sharpening iron with those you love. Your “yes” will be “yes”, and your “no” will be “no” , and if others don’t like it, you won’t fall apart.
Truth prevails and anything other than the truth is wood, hay, and stubble. You will walk in the light now as He is in the light. You will never hide behind me again.
When you finally got honest about your inner misery, in your prayer closet, I knew my days were numbered and so now I’m signing off. There are plenty of other hosts out there waiting for my bite.
And knowing your kind, you will probably warn them about me. You are not my friend any longer.
Enjoy your freedom.

At times it sent chills up my spine.
Great work!
Brilliant example of writing in the second person.
Took me a little while to grasp what was actually happening, but maybe that's what added to the interest of the piece. Well done.
