Day 1
"How's your day, love?" Marigold, always the merry wife chirped from the kitchen.
"Arghh," grumbled Archie, "I felt blue all the livelong day."
Day 2
"A better day, my love?" Marigold splatted a wee smile on her face. "
"Horrible," sighed Archie, "miserable. They had me feeling yellow, cowardly even - all the dull day long I felt yellow, and I do not like it. And needless to say, I still spend some of the day upset, and I felt blue again at the end of the day."
Day 3
"You look much peppier today, dearest..."
"Yeah, I felt in the pink today, what a relief," Archie volunteered. Oddly, he didn't tell her he felt blue for a few hours.
Day 4
"What happened dearest?"', sweet Marigold fearfully ventured.
"Don't ask," sputtered Archie. "I saw red all day, i felt red, makes me furious and sweaty, and again, naturally, I felt blue."
Day 5
"Oh darling - you look so much better," cheered Marigold.
Archie grinned widely. "I worked with purple today, but mostly felt blue."
Day 6
"Sigh," twittered Marigold, sadly. What now?"
"They asked me if I felt sick. I felt green around the gills. Again I felt blue.
Day 7:
"Thank the good Lord you look much better," cooed Marigold. "How are you feeling, sweetheart?"
"I am well rested. I no longer feel blue. I am going to ask the boss to transfer me to sewing notions." I cannot stand more of this fuzzy felt," said a relaxed Archie. "I felt blue for so long . . ."
